Arnold Adds VistaPrint

July 1, 2009

- Adweek Staff

BOSTON Havas' Arnold today said it was selected by business printing and identity services firm VistaPrint USA for advertising chores.

The client spends approximately $1 million annually on measured media and marketing.

Arnold's lead office here prevailed following a review in which several local shops also participated. The client is located in Lexington, Mass., and the work will likely consist of a mix of online and offline business-to-business communications. Arnold's Havas sibling MPG will handle media chores.

VistaPrint had no lead agency on board, though in recent years it had worked with Waltham, Mass.-based independent Manasian Inc. for its marcom needs, notably a series of radio spots.

"Arnold had what we felt VistaPrint needed to help us succeed with some external marketing projects that we have been interested in pursuing. They understand our needs and have innovative plans in place," Jason Robins, VistaPrint marketing manager, said. "They also demonstrated an understanding of our customers and our brand that we believe will help greatly. We're very happy to be working with them."

Despite the client's modest budget, the agency's selection by VistaPrint -- and its addition last week of the Miami Dolphins ad assignment -- could generate some much-needed momentum. Like many of its peers, Arnold has struggled during the recession, winning few major assignments, losing key business ( RadioShack was a tough hit) and suffering through several rounds of layoffs.
